THE 2009 HIGHLANDER INVITATIONAL
Dear Coach:
The 2009 Shadle Park Highlander Invitational will be held on Saturday, September 19th. We would like to extend an invitation to you and to your team to participate in our meet. We have a new and improved 2 lap course.
We have a course with a great starting area and a highly visible finish that adds to the excitement of the Highlander. All races will be 2.5 miles in length. The surface is mostly grass with about 400 meters on the track. The race is held at Shadle Park High School. Shirts will once again be sold at the meet. The time schedule for the races is as follows: SCORING
1. Freshman boys . . . . . . . 9:30 a.m. The top FOUR runners from
2. Freshman girls . . . . . . . 10:00 a.m. each school will determine
3. Sophomore boys . . . . . . . 10:30 a.m. team races in all boys races
4. Girls Combined Race . . . . . . 11:00 a.m. and the Frosh girls race.
The Girls “Combined” race is for schools with enrollments under 600 and for JV teams from larger schools. (Unlimited entries.) You may opt up to the Varsity girls’ race if you prefer.
5. Junior boys . . . . . . . . . 11:30 a.m. The top FIVE runners will score
6. Varsity girls . . . . . . . . . Noon for the GIRLS’ Varsity and the
7. Senior boys . . . . . . . . . 12:30 p.m. COMBINED races.
Twenty-eight trophies will be awarded. First, second and third place team trophies will be given for all the races. Trophies will be awarded for individual first place runners in each race and ribbons for 2-20 places.
The entry fee is $10 per athlete or $60 for each school. If you are sending a boys and a girl’s team, you still only pay the one $60 entry fee. Please make your check payable to Shadle Park High School and mail it with the entry form.
***Schools that have not paid or sent a P.O. by race time will be charged a $10.00 late fee. (You may bring checks or purchase orders to the meet.)
Our address is 4327 N. Maple St (Take the Maple St Bridge exit off of I-90 and go north for 3.5 miles to the light on Wellesley Ave. Take a left on Wellesley and you will see Shadle Park on your left one block away. We look forward to seeing you on Sept. 19th.
